Position Title: QA Engineer II
POSITION SUMMARY: This position reports to the QA Manager and is part of Client’s Quality Assurance Department. The Client’s mission is to provide its clients with the most comprehensive, technologically advanced and cost-effective solutions to corporate philanthropic programs. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership and expertise within cross-functional project teams. The QA Engineer II will be responsible for one or more major projects and will be expected to have the Technical expertise as well as the necessary people skills to effectively accomplish the testing process in a hands on capacity.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities range from high-level logical architecture through low-level detailed design and implementation, including:
- Partner with software and test engineers to identify test automation strategy and corresponding infrastructure in support of testing product functionality and performance for next generation media applications.
- Work closely with development and product teams to identify product and technical requirements and create a comprehensive test suite of tests
- Manage the execution of automated and manual testing to validate applications and identify issues or improvements
- Work closely with other software and QA engineers to drive identified issues and improvements to resolution
- Technical leadership and the ability to mentor and advise less experienced team member
- Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance
Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven (7) years software testing experience at least three in white or grey box testing
- Minimum 1 year working in an AGILE or Dynamic testing environment
- Experience with manual testing and test automation for medium to large scale, consumer-oriented web applications
- Ability to multi-task to accomplish workload efficiently. Excellent time management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of QA test processes including test planning, development, execution, and results reporting for multiple projects
- Good understanding of quality assurance and software development methodologies
- Experience with Web-based technologies (e.g. HTTP, JSP, SERVLETS, XML/SOAP, XSLT)
- Experience with Microsoft web development technologies (Visual Studio 2010, ASP, .NET, etc)
- Experience with the use and extension of test tools and technology (Selenium, Coded UI, etc)
- Good work ethic and general business acumen.
- Experience with Site monitoring is a plus.
- Experience with test data validation is a plus
- Experience with providing QA estimates is a plus
- Understanding of one or more programming languages is a plus e.g. VBScript, ASP, .NET, etc
- Experience with data validation techniques is a plus
- Strong technical written and verbal communication in English
EDUCATION: BS in Computer Science / Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Special Knowledge/Skills Required:
- Flexible, self-motivated, able to work independently, and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision
- Confidence to participate and contribute within a fast-paced, technically innovative and aggressive, highly skilled and collegial development team
- Excellent Interpersonal, conflict resolution, and problem solving skills
